Learning  Outcomes:
By the end of the course students should be able to:
1. be familiar with a range of relevant examples and advanced theoretical debates around digital media
2. display an informed understanding of various publishing platforms and strategies for digital and social media
3. prepare and write a project proposal and budget and present their ideas in public
4. design and develop a piece of digital media, which may combine still and moving image, sound and/or text and code as appropriate
5. reflect on and critically analyse digital media work showing an advanced understanding of the aesthetic, ethical and technical issues involved in digital and social media 

Course Summary:
The course aims to give students advanced theoretical and pratical skills to analyse the social media segment of choice demonstrating their understanding of its main principles (analysis of existing campaign) and create a piece of digital /social media (campaign), combining the ability to conceive of and create a project plan and budget (plan) and realise an piece of digital media communications. Students will be required to evidence an awareness of the aesthetic cultural and practical possibilities of non-linear narrative forms and make an argument for the creative and technical choices they have made having regard to their understanding of digital culture and the socio-economic, cultural and regulatory forces that shape online experiences.

Teaching & Learning Methods:
Lectures 1hr per week for 11 weeks = 11hrs total
